OCPP Device Model
A standardized way for a charging station to describe its structure and expose configurable/monitorable data to a CSMS without the CSMS needing charger-specific knowledge.
Technical Details
The Device Model provides a generalized mechanism for exchanging information about a charging station using a consistent component/variable addressing approach. It uses a 3-tier starting point (Charging Station, EVSE, Connector) so a CSMS can configure and monitor devices in detail without hardcoding each vendor’s internal structure.
Fleet Applications
Reduces operational friction in multi-vendor depots: operators can inventory charger capabilities, apply consistent configuration policies, and monitor health signals across different charger models from one CSMS.
